Diane Grace Stewart, known on computer networks as ‘The Angel’, is the youngest operative of the Blackeagle/Blackeagle Security and Investigations Corporation. Crippled in a terrorist attack by the World Islamic Jihad three years before and restricted to a wheelchair, she is just eighteen years old and still fresh from high-school. Although young and inexperienced, she has skills that the elite security company can use. In a world where knowledge is power, her talent lies in her ability to extract information from computer systems: hacking.

When the London offices of Blackeagle come under attack from a computer hacker; John Blake, the senior cell leader there, requests help from head office in Atlanta; and Diane is sent back home to trail the high-tech intruder. An old friend of her family, Blake still blames himself for the incident which left Diane crippled. As the trail draws in more and more Blackeagle personnel and the body-count starts to rise, he fears that this time he might get her killed.
