Sabean Lore

History & Secret Knowledge: The lore of the orders of Waganga and Kibuki is identical and knowledge is passed down by oral tradition. Spells are normally cast using a fetish such as the nkisi doll; though some sorcerers like the kibuki have ritualised the spells into dance as an aid to casting. All adepts are trained in the basic lore of the order, the Lore of Kilwa; but the most powerful adepts are also taught the Sabean Lore:

Listen (10Spade) allows the caster to hear the spirits of the dead and seek their guidance. A Poor sorcerer can ask a single question; an Average one, two questions; Good, three; and so on.
Curse (14Spade) brings harm to the victim of the spell: sometimes death; but a curse can also call upon the spirits of those already dead to plague the victim and his family. Appease (14Spade) protects the recipient from curses and invokes the spirits to allow the living to continue with their lives in peace as long as offerings of blood and fruit are maintained.
